New Build Projects
• Less preparation needed due to the reduced depth of the overall construction
because of the high levels of stiffness.
• Can be very cost effective using CBM (Cement Bound Material)
• A single, jointless slab ensuring the system is completely impermeable to chemicals
and fuels.
• Easy repair ability – Densiphalt can be patch repaired
• Can be left in its ‘natural’ finished state for light industrial use & offers a variety of
surface finishes.
New Build Advantages
• Fast track construction methods
• 24 hour curing
• Used as a walking platform for construction traffic
• Not as weather dependant as concrete
• Easy to repair
• Can achieve high surface tolerances
• No additional surface finishes required
Phase 2 – External/Refurbishment
Phase two consisted of 200sqm external refurbishment works and CIP proposed the
following solution:
• Plane off the existing area to tie in
• Apply a heavy tack coat
• Regulate as required
• Install 40mm Densiphalt
The planing works were carried out by a specialist company, Power Plane Ltd who CIP
sub-contracted the works to and Tarmac National Contracting Ltd provided the open
graded asphalt for phase 2.
Refurbishment Projects
• Cost effective - saves on excavation and disposal of the existing application
• Adds to the overall structural integrity of the pavement
• Can accommodate new surface levels and falls and still avoid the need to excavate
• Rapid speed of installation and curing
• No more cracking - the chances of reflective cracks is reduced
• Can be patch repaired
